Kalwa: Plans for construction of a two-storey building equipped with state-of-art technology for the new Kalwa police station near Parsik has been cleared by the state government recently. Home minister RR Patil is scheduled to lay the foundation stone for the new Kalwa police station on Monday, presumably a day or so before the
Election Commission announces the code of conduct for the October assembly polls.
The police station will put to rest the long pending demand of the locals who would otherwise have to crossover the Kalwa creek into Thane to register their complaint at the Kalwa police station. Medical education minister Jitendra Avhad is said to have held extensive discussions with the district administration and the Thane municipal authorities finalise the plot and also to expedite the administrative clearances.
