Speeding truck kills biker, injures pillion rider

THANE: A 40-year-old biker was killed while the pillion rider was injured after a truck rammed into their two-wheeler at Balkum on Friday morning.
The police said that Kisan Ramu Rathod and 35-year-old Anil Kumar, were on a two-wheeler heading towards Bhivandi. When they reached near Mukti Hotel, a speeding truck hit their bike. Both were rushed to Sion hospital.However, Rathod succumbed to his injuries.
The truck driver is absconding. A case has been registered at the Kapurbawdi police station under Sections 279, 304 (A), 337, 338 of the IPC and Section 184 of the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988.
