THANE: With the arrest of five persons, the Thane rural police claims to have solved a case in which the accused allegedly stole five tonnes of copper wires worth Rs 24 lakh from a tempo at Mumbai-Ahmedabad highway on August 12. The superintendent of police (Thane rural) Rajesh Pradhan had taken a serious note of the robbery and had ordered a crackdown.
Hence, the Local crime branch of Thane rural got into act and detected the case. Cops are investigating the five arrested and their possible involvement in the other robberies also efforts are going on to nab the other two accused involved in crime who are presently on a run.
