Palghar collector's office receives bomb threat email

PALGHAR: The Palghar Collector’s office, which houses the Superintendent of Police (SP) office, received a threatening email claiming a bomb was planted with a timer set for 3.30 pm on Tuesday. The police took the threat seriously and immediately evacuated staff and visitors from the premises to a nearby safe location.

The Dog Squad, Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad (BDDS), and Quick Response Team (QRT) conducted thorough search operations using metal detectors. The Fire Brigade was also placed on alert. After extensive checks, officials declared the threat a hoax by evening, allowing staff to return.

Palghar SP Balasaheb Patil confirmed the cyber cell is investigating the email’s origin and urged the public not to panic, assuring that CCTV surveillance and regular security checks are in place to safeguard the premises.
