A 54-year-old woman, who had tested positive for Covid-19 on March 31, returned to her Dombivli (E) home to a warm welcome on Wednesday night, upon completion of treatment.

KALYAN: A 54-year-old woman, who had tested positive for Covid-19 on March 31, returned to her Dombivli (E) home to a warm welcome on Wednesday night, upon completion of treatment.
Neighbours stood in their balconies and cheered, whistled and clapped as the ambulance entered the housing complex in Nilje area and she got off. A video of the grand welcome has gone viral on social media.
Last month, said officials, the woman had visited her relatives in Pune.

After returning to Mumbai on March 25, she developed Covid-19 symptoms. She tested positive on March 31 and was admitted in Kasturba Hospital. Later, she was shifted to Lilavati Hospital in Bandra. She was discharged from hospital on Wednesday after she tested negative twice, said one of her relatives.
MNS legislator from Kalyan Rural, Pramod Patil, who shared the video on his social media account, told TOI: "I have spoken to the woman, she is fine now. She said she was overwhelmed by the grand welcome by her neighbours. I would like to appeal to all not toostracise Covid-19 survivors, but support them. Only when we are united, can we defeat the virus."
Till date, the Kalyan-Dombivli region has recorded a total 43 Covid-19 cases, of which two have died and eight have got discharge from hospital.
