NCP corporator held for threat to Kalwa woman

THANE: The

Kalwa police

on Friday arrested a NCP corporator, who is also the Kalwa Ward Committee Chairman on the alleged charges of trespassing and threatening a women from his ward, the police said.

The NCP leader Mahesh Salvi has been booked under sections 452(house tresspass) , 427 ( Mischief causing damage to the amount of fifty rupee) 504(Intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace) and 506 (criminal intimidation) rw 34 of the IPC and offence registered with the Kalwa police station.

The police said that as per the complaint by the victim a lady in the ward, Salvi along with his 2-3 men came to the site where the lady was carrying out some construction work on the first floor of her house . Salvi allegedly threatened her to stop the work or shall face dire consequences. When she refused to pay any heed to the demand they started pulling down the structure, the complaint said.

Hence, the woman complained to the police, who immediately rushed to the spot and arrested the accused.

The Kalwa police are probing into the case further, Salvi is learnt to have got himself admitted at Civil hospital, after he complained of 'uneasiness', the police added.
