Unidentified men stole copper wires used by the MTNL worth Rs 2 lakh from the area near vandana talkies on Sunday night. The MTNL installation work was in progress and a bunch of cables was left on the roadside from where it was robbed, said a police officer. The robbery was reported when the workers returned to work on Monday morning and found the cables missing.
A complaint was registered with the Naupada police, who filed a case under section 379 of the IPC. The wires were worth Rs 1.98 lakh, the officer said adding that the investigation is underway.
