MNS activists assault Thane sex worker

THANE: A transgender who was allegedly soliciting customers at passersby near Majiwada flyover in Thane was assaulted up by activists of Maharashtra Navnirman Sena late on Sunday evening, the police said.
The party workers, including women, swooped down on the location, causing several eunuchs to flee. One of them was caught and beaten black and blue, the police said.
The party's Thane chief, Avinash Jadhav, said "We got many complaints about prostitution at this spot.I had written to the police, but no action was taken."
The police said they patrol around the spot, but the sex workers flee in a thicket of bushes nearby.
