NEW DELHI: A 31-year-old man from Mumbra was booked by police on Wednesday for allegedly divorcing his 25-year-old wife by saying "triple talaq."
The incident occurred on Tuesday when the man contacted his wife's father to declare the divorce.
He reportedly justified the action because his wife "was going alone for a walk."
Police have registered a case against the man under the Indian Penal Code and the Muslim Women (Protection of Rights on Marriage) Act, which criminalises the practice of instant divorce.
