Dombivli observes bandh to protest Pahalgam terror attack

THANE: A city-wide bandh was called in Dombivli on Thursday, led by all political parties and traders' organisations, following the death of three local residents in the terrorist attack at Pahalgam in Srinagar. As a result, most shops and offices across the city remained shut, with only hospitals, medical stores, and essential goods outlets staying open.

At least 28 tourists were killed in the attack at a popular tourist spot in the Pahalgam district of Kashmir. Among the victims were three relatives from Dombivli, Maharashtra: Sanjay Lele, Hemant Joshi, and Atul Mone.

The bodies of the three victims were brought back from Kashmir to Dombivli on Wednesday. Their last rites were performed late that night, witnessed by thousands of people.

After the incident, political parties and local traders decided to keep the city shut in protest and mourning.

During this time, workers of BJP and Uddhav Thackeray's Shiv Sena party were seen coming out on the road and appealing to the people to join the bandh.
