Kasarvadavli police gets notice to vacate plot
THANE: Those from Ghodbunder Road GB Road, planning to visit the Kasarvadavli Police Station in near future need to confirm the address of the police station before heading to it.
The Kasarvadavli police station will be shifted to a different location in soon as the plot falls on the proposed service road that will come along the GB Road. According to sources, the Maharashtra State Development Corporation is developing the service road on the busiest GB Road for smooth vehicular movement.

The work of the service road started recently since traffic jams developed due to the ongoing mega projects. The service road needs to be provided first which will be an optional road for motorists and then the work would be commenced on the busiest GB Road so that motorists face minimum inconvenience.
If sources are to be believed then the Thane Municipal Corporation (TMC) has already issued a notice to the Kasarvadavli Police Station to vacate the plot as it falls right on the path of the service road. The police station came up in the year 2007 on the GB Road and is situated right on the highway. But looking at the recent development of the service road that will run parallel to the main highway, there is an urgent need to vacate the place and shift the current police station to some other location in the same jurisdiction.
If optional vacant spaces on GB Road are taken into consideration then there is an open plot at Anand Nagar Naka that falls under the jurisdiction of the Kasarvadavli Police Station. The plot belongs to the Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority (MHADA) and the plot is enough for setting up the police station. Apart from this, it is right on the road as the current police station is situated. Officers have written to the concerned authorities to communicate with the MHADA officials and get the plot sanctioned to locate the police station.
