Thane: Municipal commissioner Sanjeev Jaiswal has slapped a

He personally appeared before the court on Wednesday and presented his stand.
The IAS official, according to a press release circulated by the Thane Municipal Corporation, has claimed the weekly named Loknirbhid carried two defamatory articles about him without verifying the facts and only based on the allegations of the mentioned activist Vikrant Karnik. The application has also held the weekly editor Dnyandev Sutar and its printer responsible for the defamation. The reports were based on some alleged molestation incident of a minor girl supposed to have taken place at the commissioner's residence last year and was reportedly published in the publication with the intention of maligning his image.
“The court has ordered for summons to be served on the citizen activist, the editor of a weekly magazine and its printer for the hearing scheduled on March 28,” said a Thane Municipal Corporation official.
