THANE: The Ulhasnagar doctor who was struggling to get bail as he was booked under section 304 was set free as police dropped charges and booked him under 304-A.
Last year, the doctor was booked for the death of a mother and her newborn. Doctors at JJ hospital filed a report that the death of the patient was caused due to negligence.
The doctor was arrested on April 20 under section 304 (culpable homicide).

However, he was the denied bail by the court as the offence was non-bailable.
On Saturday the court granted bail as the cops dropped charges and booked him undr a bailable section.
"We have removed the earlier charges and have applied 304-A (causing death by negligence)," a senior police official from Thane said.
