The 32-year-old kirtankar was apparently unable to repay a debt of Rs 32 lakh, following which he allegedly ended his life, leaving a note for his friends, urging them to volunteer and help repay the loan on behalf of his elderly parents.

"After Shinde Saheb was alerted to the plight of the More family, he immediately reached out to them through Sena leader and Purandar MLA Vijay Shivtare and handed over a cheque of Rs 32 lakh on his behalf on the occasion of his birthday," said a Sena functionary.
