THANE: A container truck driver sustained injuries after his vehicle lost control and rammed into another vehicle on the Mumbra–Thane bypass early on Saturday, officials from the Thane Municipal Corporation’s Disaster Management Cell said.
The accident occurred around 3:45 am when a truck heading from Shilphata towards Vashi skidded and hit a vehicle ahead, resulting in an oil spill on the road.
Fire brigade personnel from the Mumbra station, traffic police with a Hydra crane, and rescue teams rushed to the spot. The injured driver, identified as Bhim Singh (35), was assisted by locals and taken to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Hospital, Kalwa, for further treatment.
The damaged truck was later moved aside using a Hydra crane, while the fire brigade cleared the spilled oil with water jets.
