Container driver injured as truck crashes on Mumbra bypass

A container truck driver sustained injuries in an early Saturday accident on the Mumbra-Thane bypass. The truck skidded and hit another vehicle, causing an oil spill. Rescue teams and traffic police responded swiftly. The injured driver was taken to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Hospital. The damaged truck was removed, and the oil spill was cleared.

THANE: A container truck driver sustained injuries after his vehicle lost control and rammed into another vehicle on the Mumbra–Thane bypass early on Saturday, officials from the Thane Municipal Corporation’s Disaster Management Cell said.The accident occurred around 3:45 am when a truck heading from Shilphata towards Vashi skidded and hit a vehicle ahead, resulting in an oil spill on the road.Fire brigade personnel from the Mumbra station, traffic police with a Hydra crane, and rescue teams rushed to the spot. The injured driver, identified as Bhim Singh (35), was assisted by locals and taken to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Hospital, Kalwa, for further treatment. The damaged truck was later moved aside using a Hydra crane, while the fire brigade cleared the spilled oil with water jets.
