The police said that Yasmin, Khan's wife, confessed that her husband had in the past supplied a 'consignment' to unidentified persons in

Andheri

. While Khan posed as a driver, his wife would sit behind as a commuter in the SUV and delivered the weapons to gangsters in 2014, said Pradeep Sharma, senior police officer.

"She has even told us that Khan used to talk to Chota Shakeel's brother Anwar and at times she heard him talking to Shakeel as well. However, the information is subject to verification," added Sharma.

The sleuths are likely to get the custody of Khan on Thursday as they are almost through with the procedure. The official said that they will rope in ballistic experts to know the condition of the AK-56 rifle as well as to ascertain whether any rounds were fired or not. "Though the rifle seems to be in working condition, it will be tested by the experts," said a police officer. It is believed that Shakeel had ordered a hit on his former aide Iqbal Attarwala as he had challenged D-gang's diminishing presence in Mumbai.
