Biker mowed down near Waghbil

THANE: The city police booked an unidentified tanker for mowing down a biker near Waghbil area on Sunday evening.

The police said that the biker has been identified as Shivaji Patil.

The official said that the incident occurred at 6.45 pm, when Patil was riding on a bike and was heading towards Ghodbunder. An unidentified tanker hit him from the rear in which he was crushed leading to his immediate demise. Following the incident, the tanker driver fled the scene. Kasarvadvali police have registered an offence and have launched a probe into the incident. While the body of Patil was sent for autopsy to the government hospital.
