The TMC-run schools have an opportunity to showcase their talent at the National Science Summit. Five projects prepared by the students have been shortlisted for the regional-level competition. If the projects impress the judges at the regional-level competition, then they qualify for the state and then the national-level conference.
Seventy-six projects were prepared by the civic schools for the science summit and were sent for the preliminary rounds at city-level competitions.
Out of these, 15 projects qualified for the district-level rounds. And out of these, five were selected for the regional-level eliminations.
The district-level of the competition was held at Wada between October 2 and 4. Hundreds of schools from the district had participated in the programme. Projects from civic schools 129, 115, 67, 18 and 2 made it to the regional-level competition which will take place at Pune on November 27
Speaking to Thane Plus, Suresh Gada the chairman of the education board said that his department was happy that five of the projects were shortlisted for the regional level.
