45-year-old hurt in tree fall incident at Panchpakhadi
Thane: A 45-year-old man escaped with minor injuries on his leg after a tree fell on him near Dhanekar Colony in Panchpakhadi early on Thursday morning.
Rescue officials said that Avinash Jogale, a resident of Datta Chaya building, was walking towards his home at Gurukul society when suddenly the tree fell a few meters ahead of him. An alert resident informed the Regional Disaster Management Cell (RDMC) and the local fire brigade at Nitin company junction, who reached the spot within minutes.

Santosh Kadam, disaster officer at the RDMC, said, “We arrived at the spot with an ambulance and a rescue vehicle as we had heard that a resident has been injured. After rescuing Jogale, we rushed him to a private hospital. The area was cleared within minutes.” An auto and bike were also damaged. —Avani Ghangurde
