A seven-year-old child was rescued within hours of being kidnapped by a lover who wanted to marry the victim's widow mother. The accused was arrested by police from Godhra railway station by Dahod police on Sunday.

SURAT: A seven-year-old child was rescued within hours of being kidnapped by a lover who wanted to marry the victim's widow mother. The accused was arrested by police from Godhra railway station by Dahod police on Sunday.
Following information and mobile location details the accused, Dilshan, was nabbed from Godhra railway police station while attempting to escape with the seven-year-old child Prem.

The accused kidnapped the child from Pardi town of Valsad on Sunday morning and was taking him in train to UP. Before the accused crossed the state border police rescued the child.
Sonal Halpati, 23, a widow and resident of Pardi in Valsad district, works in a catering service and Dilshan, the accused, was her colleague in the firm. Both developed friendship and Dilshan proposed Sonal for marriage. She refused as she was mother of a child and has responsibility of her family.
Dilshan pressurised Sonal number of time to marry him but she did not surrender to his pressure. To convince her Dilshan planned to kidnap Sonal's son Prem. He went to Sonal's residence and took Prem with him to buy him a chocolate on Sunday morning. Sonal’s parents knew Dilshan as a colleague and allowed Prem to go with him. Dilshan did not return till afternoon and called Sonal on her mobile at around 1 pm.

He threatened Sonal that he would not return her son if she does not agree to marry. Later Sonal searched for Dilshan in Pardi town with help of family members. On failing to trace Prem, the family lodged a police complaint. Police traced Dilshan from his mobile location and a team of Dahod police nabbed him at Godhra railway station.
