SURAT: A 28-year-old woman fabricated story of gangrape by four men after staying out of home for around 21 hours. Fearing that the family would raise doubt about her character the woman cooked-up the story, police investigation revealed. After repeated tussle with her husband due to financial crisis, the women left home but returned a day later.
Already facing backlash due to series of rapes with minor cops were on the run on Thursday afternoon after the woman resident of
Lalgate area
alleged gangrape. Lalgate police station was alerted by hospital authorities where she got admitted with health issues.
The woman who left home at around 11 am on Monday without informing family members returned on Tuesday morning. Family asked about her location for over 21 hours and fearing that her family will doubt her character, she fabricated the kidnapping and rape story.
She claimed that she was kidnapped in an
autorickshaw
by making her unconscious and later raped by four. After returning home she complained of
health issue
and taken for
medical examination
. The hospital authorities alerted cops as the woman described being raped during medical checkup.
However, detailed police investigation revealed that she was living under tension and wanted to leave home. She could not gather courage to stay away from family and returned, police informed.
