SURAT: Police arrested a 23-year-old woman bootlegger with Rs 10 lakh cash kept in flour containers at her residence in Valsad. Police recovered Indian made foreign liquor (IMFL) bottles worth Rs 1.50 lakh from the residence of the woman bootlegger.
Following a tip-off police raided the residence of Yogita Patel in Andhiyawad area of Valsad. Police team searched the residence to recover IMFL bottles and found liquor worth Rs 1.50 lakh. During the search police also recovered cash in large amount from the residence. The cash was kept in small amounts in different containers. From cupboard to flour containers the cash was kept at different places.
Most of the cash was in notes of Rs 10 or Rs 20 due to which it took several hours for the police to count it. Police are questioning Patel to find out source of cash. Police suspect that the cash is earning from bootlegging.
Sources informed that Patel was running the business since long period and managed to earn the money through illegal liquor business. Police are surprised to find a young woman with liquor stock and cash. Police are questioning Patel to find out the source of liquor and cash. Police are also questioning Patel about other members in her group.
