SURAT: The key woman witness in the rape compliant against Narayan Sai refused to register her statement in court under section 164 of CrPC on Tuesday.
The witness, a woman from Vyara, had earlier told police that she was molested by Sai and she knows the rape survivor of Surat. On Monday, the woman had given a statement to the police alleging that she was being pressurised by few Sai's followers to change her statement.

Police confirmed that Sai's followers are continuously pursuing her to change her statement.
It came as a major setback for police since the investigation largely depends upon witnesses. However, police officials are confident that the witness changing her stand will not affect much to the investigation.
Meanwhile, the hearing on bail application of Sai has been adjourned to Wednesday.
Sai's lawyer Kalpesh Desai argued that the investigating officer has raised doubts about the authenticity of the affidavit. Hence, the accused should be allowed to file a fresh anticipatory bail plea.
Police investigation had revealed that the signatures in the affidavit submitted by Sai were forged. The point of forgery was raised in court by prosecution.
