Water level in Ukai swells

Surat: The water level of Ukai Dam is expected to swell by Sunday morning following the release of four lakh cusec water from the Hatnur dam upstream in Maharashtra due to heavy rain.All 41 gates of Hatnur dam have been fully opened and the discharge was maintained till Saturday evening. The dam level on Saturday evening was 339.11 feet. The rule level at Ukai is 345 feet and this is the maximum water storage capacity. “Water from Hatnur will start flowing in Ukai from Sunday morning. By 5pm, the level of Ukai is likely to reach 342 feet,” said a dam official

Heavy showers help boost water level in Jayakwadi dam

The Jayakwadi major irrigation project in Aurangabad district, India, received 7 million cubic metres (MCUM) of water in the past 24 hours due to improved weather conditions. Other major irrigation projects in the region also recorded inflows. However, the overall live storage in irrigation projects in Marathwada is lower compared to last year, with 43% live stock in major projects and 23% live storage in medium projects. Officials are hopeful that upcoming rains will increase water levels in the dams. Drinking water supply is not expected to be affected.

Heavy rain in Nashik pushes up water stock in dist dams

Recent heavy rainfall in Nashik has led to a significant increase in water stock in 24 dams in the district, as well as in parts of Jalgaon, Aurangabad, and Ahmednagar districts. The cumulative water stock now stands at 75% of total capacity, up from 67% three days ago. While the rain will not fully compensate for the damage caused to kharif crops, it will benefit the remaining crops. The water levels in several dams, including Girna and the Ozharkhed complex, have seen a notable rise.

7 dams in Bhima basin release water amid continued rain in catchments

Water has been released from seven major dams in the Bhima basin due to continuous rainfall. The Pavana dam's water discharge has been increased to 5,600 cusecs, while the Dimbhe dam has also started releasing water for the first time this monsoon. Other dams like Temghar, Panshet, and Varasgaon are discharging water as well. The collective storages of these dams have increased to 27.25 TMC. Additionally, the Mulshi and Andra dams have recorded good rainfall, with Mulshi at 90% and Andra at 100% capacity.
