BHARUCH/SURAT: The water level in Sardar Sarovar Dam over Narmada river at Kevadia Colony in

Narmada district

reached 121.98 metre mark by 8pm on Friday. This is first time in this monsoon that the water level in the dam has touched this mark, which happens to be old height of the dam before additional gates were installed a few years ago.


M U Dalvani, deputy engineer, Sardar Sarovar Narmada Limited, said, “The catchment area of Narmada river is witnessing heavy rainfall in the past few days. The inflow of water into the reservoir is at the rate of 15,362 cusec and the outflow is at 13,690 cusec.” Out of five turbines of the two power plants of Sardar Sarovar Project, three with 50 megawatt each capacity have generated around 2,367 megawatt of electricity, sources said.
