SURAT: Police have booked two brothers for allegedly murdering a weaving unit owner in Udhna on Monday night. Ashish Patel and his brother Hemant had attacked Nimesh Patel, 34, over some financial dispute, the investigation so far has revealed. They are yet to be arrested.
The duo stopped Nimesh when he was going in his car near Ambika crossroad in Bhathena and repeatedly stabbed him in face, back and thighs.
They even chased him when he tried to escape. Nimesh died while being shifted to New Civil Hospital (NCH) in 108 ambulance. Police got clues about their involvement after questioning the deceased's family members and close associates. The accused and the deceased are distant relatives and knew each other since many years.
The two brothers had lent money to a person and Nimesh had taken the guarantee of repayment. "The duo wanted Nimesh to recover around Rs 15 lakh from someone known to them. Nimesh became a mediator in the dispute but failed to recover the money," said B S Mori, PI, Udhna PS.
