SURAT: A young man unable to bear torture by his wife ended his life in Sarthana area of the city on Friday. Hitesh Beladia, 35, who was an embroidery worker, had consumed poison. Police initially registered a case of accidental death but later made it a case of abetment to suicide against his wife Asha, brother-in-law Pintu alias Pradip Dabra and Rakesh Dhamelia with whom the woman was allegedly having an affair on finding a suicide note from the house. Hitesh and Asha were married in 2005 and had two children. The deceased has alleged in his suicide note that Asha was having an affair with Rakesh for the past two years which forced him to separate from her. He also alleged that she was torturing him mentally for divorce which he didn't want to give, police said.
"We registered a case against all those people mentioned in the suicide note," said police sub inspector P M Amin of Sarthana police station.
However, Asha alleged that her husband had an affair with a woman named Kajal Patel whom he met through Facebook. This was the reason behind their separation, she said.
Amin said, "There are allegations and counter allegations. Our investigation will reach the truth."
