Theft in 11 shops in Textile Market area

SURAT: Eleven shops in textile market on ring road were looted of cash and saris worth Rs 7.17 lakh on Monday afternoon. According to officials of Salabatpura police station, assessment of total worth of goods was being assessed till late evening as thieves have stolen saris in large numbers.
At Rohit AC market, burglars targeted seven shops and took away saris worth Rs 5 lakh while from four shops of Shree Ram Market, they stole cash and saris worth Rs 2.17 lakh were stolen.Police believe, the theft was carried out on Saturday night and that shop owners came to know of it on Monday morning.
Breaking the locks of shutters of all the shops the theft was carried out.
