voters list
amendment programme announced by
Election Commission of India, an elaborate programme for the minor amendment in voters list of all assembly segments would take place from July 01 to 31, 2017. “During this whole month, officers would go door to door and hear out people’s objections and suggestions,” said
Mahendra Patel, district collector of Surat. “They would also be present on 09, 16 and 23 July on nearby voting centers and accept the forms of the people,” he added.
Voters can fill forms for adding their names , deducting their names during this time from the voters list. Final voters list would be published on September 25. People would be made aware of the voters amendment list through posters, hoardings and other means. Voters card with photo ID would be distributed within a month. Surat district has 21, 36, 617 male voters and 17, 88, 768 female voters at present. There are total of 39, 25, 425 voters listed . 4354 booth level officers and 396 sector level officers are appointed in Surat district.
