Surat businessman dies in accident near Simada

SURAT: A 35-year-old businessman died in an accident on Simada- Kadodara canal road when his car crashed into a truck coming from opposite direction on Thursday. The truck later hit a scooter before overturning on the side of the road. The two-wheeler rider Keyur Patel, 34, was admitted to a private hospital at Majura Gate. Keyur Patel has suffered fractures in right hand, right leg and neck.
Deceased Kevan Goyani, a sand businessman, was a resident of Varachha. Police investigation revealed that Goyani was trying to overtake a scooter when his car collided with the truck at about 9.30 am. He died on the spot.
The truck driver is on the run.
It took three hours for the fire brigade officials to cut the car's door and remove Goyani's body from the mangled vehicle. "The body has been sent for postmortem. We are yet to identify the truck driver," said A J Vaghela, police sub inspector, Sarthana police station.
