Surat:Rs 50 lakh theft case registered after four years

SURAT: A case of theft of Rs50 lakh was registered after four years against an employee at

Lalgate police station

on Wednesday. Police say the owner of the firm, which has ceased its operations now, registered the complaint against one of his former employees saying that he stole Rs50 lakh of the company in 2014.


Ghanshyam Vyas, a native of

Patan district

, who worked as collection and delivery man in Patel Maganlal Shankardas & Company, a courier company, allegedly stole Rs50 lakh cash that he had collected from different parties on August 12, 2014.

Hitesh Patel, one of the owners of the firm, who lives at Khatodara, filed the theft case under IPC section 381 against the employee, police said.
