Man murdered by in-laws for thrashing pregnant wife

A Rentlav village resident was thrashed and murdered by his mother-in-law and two brother-in-laws at Umargam village of Valsad district on Friday. The deceased was thrashed by the in-laws as he was beating his pregnant wife.

SURAT: A Rentlav village resident was thrashed and murdered by his mother-in-law and two brother-in-laws at Umargam village of Valsad district on Friday. The deceased was thrashed by the in-laws as he was beating his pregnant wife.
Ishwar Chauhan, resident of Rentlav near Udwada in Valsad, died during treatment at New Civil Hospital in Surat. Chauhan’s pregnant wife Nilam had gone to stay at her parent’s residence in Palgam of Umargam in Valsad.

Since she was pregnant she shifted at her parents’ place for better care.
Meanwhile Chauhan went to meet his wife at residence of his in-laws. The couple argued over some issue and Chauhan started beating pregnant Nilam in anger. Nilam’s mother, Vasanti Pawar, attempted to stop Chauhan but he continued thrashing. After which Vasanti thrashed Chauhan with stick and she was joined by her two sons, Karan and Arjun.
The trio thrashed Chauhan with stick, punch and kicks. Chauhan suffered severe injuries on body and was shifted to NCH in Surat in critical condition. He died during treatment. Due to thrashing by Chauhan, Nilam also suffered injuries and she is currently under treatment. Based upon Nilam’s statement police booked Vasanti, Karan and Arjun for allegedly thrashing Chauhan to death.
