Four pieces of a man's body were found over three days in the Bholav GIDC estate in Bharuch. The victim was identified as Sachin Chauhan, missing since March 29. Police suspect he was murdered and dismembered a few days ago. An investigation is underway to determine the cause and weapon used.

SURAT: Four pieces of a man's body were discovered in the Bholav GIDC estate in Bharuch in three days, the last on Monday.On Saturday evening, someone noticed a dog pulling out a decomposed human head from a natural drain in the estate. Just as police began looking for clues, they found more body parts on Sunday and Monday. The victim was identified as Sachin Chauhan, who had gone missing on March 29. His brother had lodged a missing person report at the Bharuch A division police station the same day.Chauhan, who was from Bijnor in Uttar Pradesh, had been living in Bharuch for 12 years and worked for a biotech company in Dahej, police said. He lived with his wife and four-year-old son at Vedant Society in Bharuch.V M Bharwad, inspector of Bharuch C Division police station, said, "All the body parts were found in a 1.5km radius in the Bholav GIDC area, in drains next to roads. It seems that a man was murdered and dismembered. We have started an investigation based on human and technical surveillance."After the head was found on Saturday, the second part, from the back to the knees, was found 100m away on Sunday morning. The same evening, police found the right hand, while the left hand was found on Monday. While two parts were found stuffed in plastic bags, the other two were disposed of in the open.From the decomposition, police suspect the victim was killed a few days ago."A panel postmortem will be conducted to ascertain how the man was killed and the weapon used," Bharwad said.KEY HIGHLIGHTS:
