One worker dies at Essar plant

SURAT: A labourer was crushed under the wheels of a giant loader machine at Essar plant here on Wednesday evening.
Rajesh Kosambia (36), a resident of Ichhapore village, was walking towards his house when he was runover by a giant loader machine coming out from Essar's plant site. The victim died on the spot, sources said.
Earlier in the day, six persons working at Essar's steel processing plant in SEZ had sustained severe burns following a blast and three of them were airlifted to Mumbai for treatment, Marine police said.Two of the victims, who sustained more than 90 per cent of burns, were airlifted to Mumbai on the same day, while one of the critically injured was airlifted on Thursday.
The victims have been identified as Lalbahadur Ramkrishna, Vishal Lalji Singhada, Bunty Singh Jhalesingh, Jagdish Uttam Singh, Romit Rameshchandra Patel and Ramkumar.
