Lok Sabha elections: Most candidates are crorepatis

SURAT: Except for two, all other candidates of BJP and Congress contesting from Lok Sabha constituencies in South Gujarat are crorepatis. Jitu Chaudhary of Congress, candidate from Valsad constituency, has assets worth just Rs47.62 lakh.
BJP’s sitting MP and party candidate from Bharuch, Mansukh Vasava has assets worth just Rs47.85 lakh. Barring these two, all other candidates of the two main parties have assets over Rs1 crore.
CR Paatil, BJP’s Navsari candidate, is the richest among all those contesting Lok Sabha elections from the constituencies in South Gujarat. He has properties and cash worth Rs46.60 crore. His opponent from Congress, Dharmesh Patel has assets worth Rs3.24 crore.
