Merai to lead Gujarat Ranji team

Surat: Bhargav Merai, middle-order batsman and player of Surat District Cricket Association (SDCA) will lead Gujarat Ranji Trophy team in the tournament starting in Mumbai from January 13. Pacers Mehul Patel and Parth Vaghani have also been selected for Gujarat team. Merai is the fourth person from Surat to be selected as captain of SDCA.
Earlier, late Ambu Patel, Dhansukh Patel and Nisarg Patel have led the state team in Ranji Trophy tournament.Merai was selected in India A team of Deodhar Trophy in 2020. The selected players have been trained by SDCA’s chief selector Mehul Patel, Vimal Patel, Hiren Patel, Praful Patel, head coach Pratik Patel and coach Vipul Patel.
