SURAT: Bilimora police arrested a 35-year-old man for allegedly abusing political leaders including BJP Gujarat state president

Primary investigation suggested that the man was frustrated ever since the Covid-induced lockdown and vented his ire on social media.

On Monday Navsari district’s Bilimora police received a complaint against a Twitter account holder

Hitanshu Mehta

who allegedly used abusive words against BJP leaders. Police registered an offence under IPC section 294b (Obscene words), 504 (Provocation) and IT Act and after brief investigation arrested Mehta.

Mehta is working as a valuer with a car dealership company in Surat. He was frustrated over the implementation of the lockdown and started abusing political leaders.
