Man detained for cheating job seekers

SURAT: A a resident of

Gopipura

was detained on Wednesday for alleged cheating over two dozen job seekers. The accused had collected money from the persons promising them job in Surat Municipal Corporation.

Mistry

, a resident of

Chandanbala Apartment

in Gopipura, was detained for questioning for alleged cheating Rs 2.40 lakh of complainant

Dhiren Umrigar

and others. The accused had collected money from

Umrigar

in 2015 promising him job in SMC.

Later when Umrigar did not get job he demanded the money back but Mistry refused. The accused was booked under criminal breach of trust and cheating on Tuesday. After the complainant made representation to senior officers cops added another section of conspiracy in the complaint.
