Man booked for raping 5-year-old girl in Sachin

SURAT: A 50-year-old man was booked at Sachin GIDC police station on Saturday for allegedly raping a five-year-old girl living in the neighbourhood. The minor girl was raped on September 15 and following the threat by the accused to kill her family, they chose not to register police complaint against him.
Police booked Ashok Tiwari, a resident of Kailash Nagar, for allegedly raping the minor in his house.The accused spotted the minor girl playing outside his house. He lured her to go with him by offering biscuits. The accused subjected the minor girl to oral sex, police said.
The girl informed her parents about this and the family confronted the accused who threatened to kill them if they approached police. The scared family did not register police complaint initially. The accused is on the run and may have escaped to his native place in Uttar Pradesh, police said.
