According to senior officials, all the papers related to the case have been sent to the police commissionerate. Police initiated the investigation after allegations by Rajesh's family members that he attempted suicide after his arrest under false charges of indecent behaviour with his classmate in BBA Pratiksha Jadhav,.
The inquiry will probe if proper procedures were followed or not when Rajesh and Pratiksha were arrested. The students were arrested from Rajesh's residence along with few other friends, who had gathered there to study for the ensuing examinations.
Except for Rajesh and Pratiksha, other students were released by the police, who were unable to explain why the two were held. The investigating officer will also investigate on what basis and whose information the police team had entered Rajesh's residence.
The statements of parents of Rajesh and Pratiksha have been taken together with that of police officials concerned. Senior officials informed TOI that strict action will be taken against all those involved in the case. Meanwhile, Rajesh is still in a critical condition at a private hospital in the city. Rajesh's father Bhanubhai said, "Rajesh's condition is still critical. Everything is in the hands of God now."
