SURAT: In a tragic incident, three members of a family died after getting electrocuted at their home in
Pariya village
in Pardi taluka of
Valsad district
on early Monday morning. According to Valsad district officials, the incident occurred at around 7am when one of the family members got electric current in short-circuit and others rushed to help them and got electrocuted.
The deceased were identified as
Rupesh Patel
(42), his wife
Kailesh Patel
(38) and their 21-year-old son
Viral Patel. Deceased's dead bodies were sent for post-mortem.
Meanwhile, heavy rains continued in parts of South Gujarat region on Monday. In Valsad district, Dharampur received 51 mm rainfall, Kaprada received 34 mm and Valsad received 23 mm rainfall on Monday.
In Navsari district, Vansada received highest rainfall with 152 mm followed by 61 mm in Navsari, 47 mm in Gandevi and 42 mm in Khergam taluka.
Tapi district continued to receive heavy rainfall for the last few days. On Monday, Dolvan received 170 mm followed by 154 mm in Valod, 112 mm in Vyara and 95 mm rainfall in Songadh taluka of Tapi district.
