The police registered an offence in the matter after a video of the celebration went viral on social media.
Chaurasiya can be seen in the video cutting the cake with a sword near his house at Sarita Darshan Apartment while his friends were cheering him on. The IMFL bottle kept inside the cake was later consumed by the accused, police said. The accused were booked on prohibition and violation of public notification charges by police.
“The accused celebrated the birthday in this manner out of enthusiasm. The video came to our knowledge and we took action against them. Chaurasiya is on the run,” said a police officer at Adajan police station.
The accused put on loud music in a car parked nearby. Many people gathered around the spot since it was Sunday. None of the accused is a history-sheeter. Rawal is a property broker and Vangwani works as decorator. The other two accused are unemployed. Police are questioning them to find out who brought the liquor bottle, sources said.
