Surat: A 39-year-old former national-level weightlifter has been arrested in connection with a Rs 70,000 cyber fraud case. The accused, Bodu Paleja, is a contractual employee at the Taluka Health Centre in Junagadh. He had represented India in a weightlifting championship at the age of 16.DCP Bishakha Jain said, "Paleja holds two credit cards — one from Bank of Baroda and another from ICICI Bank. A Surat-based victim lost Rs 70,000 after downloading an APK file linked to a fake RTO challan. Paleja allegedly used the defrauded amount to clear dues on his two credit cards."

Police said, Paleja currently works as a TB supervisor at the health centre in Junagadh and had also worked part-time with a private finance company.
