'Double-decker from Mumbai Central to earn more revenue'
Surat: Rakesh Shah, member of Passenger Service Committee (PSC), ministry of railways, has urged Western Railway (WR) general manager to change the direction of air-conditioned double-decker between Ahmedabad to Mumbai Central to increase revenue.
In a letter to Western Railway general manager Rakesh Shah stated that the double-decker train currently departs from Ahmedabad at 6 am for Mumbai Central and reaches the destination at 1:40 pm.

Again the same train departs from Mumbai Central at 2:10 pm to reach Ahmedabad at 9:40 pm.
Karnavati Express runs before the double-decker on the same route. Unfortunately, the double-decker train does not get traffic due to Karnavati Express.
"I have suggested to the WR GM to run the double-decker from Mumbai Central in the morning instead of Ahmedabad. This will facilitate end number of passengers travelling between Surat and Ahmedabad as there is only one train in the morning, i.e., Gujarat Queen.
The double-decker from Mumbai Central in the morning will increase revenue share of the WR. At present, 70 per cent of seats are vacant in the double-decker."
