City group to perform at national theatre fest

SURAT: A play produced and directed by HK Arts, a group from city, will be performed at the 16th National Theatre Festival to be organized at the Nehru Centre in Mumbai from September 7 to 14.
The play, 'Tirade Funti Kumpal' is among 14 plays to be staged at the festival.
The play is directed by Kapildev Shukla and produced by Hema Shukla. It was translated in Gujarati by writer Ravindra Parekh and originally written by Mahesh Elkunchwar.
The original play 'Wada Chirebandi' has been translated in few other languages and became popular.
'Tirade Funti Kumpal' will be the only Gujarati play to be performed at the festival this year.
The play was earlier performed in Bharat Rang Mahotsav at National School of Drama in New Delhi.
