Blind band comes forward to help kidney patient
SURAT: Sur Sangam Musical Group, a city-based band of blind artistes, plans to organise a charity show here shortly to contribute Rs five lakh towards the expenses of kidney transplant operation of a computer application student.
Amit Mistry, 22, a student of masters in computer application at M S University, Vadodara and a resident of Valsad, suffered kidney failure a few weeks ago.

His mother has given her consent to donate one of her kidneys but the family is not in a position to afford the expenditure of the operation. The student's father works as a labourer in a factory in Valsad.
"We have decided to help the youth because he has a brilliant future. Besides, he is also good in studies. His mother is a donor, but the family doesn't have money for the operation. Hence, we are keen to help them," said.
