BJP approaches EC against Modhwadia

SURAT: BJP has approached the Election Commission against Gujarat Congress president Arjun Modhwadia for violating model code of conduct. The complaint is in connection with Modhwadia's remarks in Surat last week while inaugurating the election office of Congress candidate for Surat (west) assembly byelection.
Modhwadia, in his speech, had described Modi as BJP's 'lafrabaj' candidate for the post of prime minister.The code is in effect as the bypoll is scheduled next month. The BJP has asked commission to take action against Modhwadia under Indian Penal Code.
Parindu Bhagat, convener of Election Legal Cell of State BJP, said, "It is pertinent to note that Arjun Modhwadia, while giving a political speech at the inauguration of an election office made personal attack on Narendra Modi by addressing him as a 'Lafrabaj'. The said phrase is used for people with loose character.,
