SURAT: Motorcycle-borne thieves struck in broad daylight, looting Rs 13 lakh from employees of cash management firm on Ghod Dod Road on Tuesday.
Sunil Patel and Ritesh Patel, employees in Writer Safeguard, were on their bike and coming towards Athwalines at around 12.45 pm when two miscreants came on a bike and snatched the bag with cash Rs 13 lakh on Gokulam Dairy road.

The victims lost balance and fell on road. They had collected cash from different business units on Ghod Dod Road and Gaurav Path and were going to their office in Athwalines.
Police believe that the robbers were following the duo much before striking. After observing daily routine of the victims, the robbers planned the loot, police believe. They employees were targeted within minutes of their collecting money.
"It was a routine for the money carriers to carry cash from one place to another. On their route, they collected and deposited money at different locations. We are yet to collect exact details of which group's money is lost in the crime," said J G Gadhvi, police inspector, Umra police station.
Police believe that the cash carrier adopted most dangerous way of cash transport. "When the carriers are handling large amount of cash they should have used a four-wheeler with proper security," said Gadhvi.
Earlier on September 3, two miscreants on a black Pulsar bike made a failed attempt to loot a woman outside a bank near Ghod Dod road police chowky. Within an hour of the incident, Rs 12.49 lakh were looted by two miscreants also on a Pulsar bike in Nanpura area. The accused had snatched the bag from an automobile firm manager who was carrying cash on bike.
