The deal was struck at Rs 2.80 lakh per bigha totalling Rs 7.28 crore, of which the duo had already collected Rs 1.85 crore," said inspector RS Patel of Umra police station.
After the arrest of Kashmira on Thursday, it came to light that she had contacted builder Kanti Shah in 2007 and stated that she had owned the land and started collecting payment through Unadkat.
After paying Rs 1.85 crore, when Shah went to take the physical possession of the land, the village farmers drove him out saying they were original owners. After a complaint was lodged by Shah, Umara police officials arrested Kashmira from Kadoli village of Jalalpur taluka in Navsari district on Thursday evening.
"We are searching for Unadkat and will catch him soon," said PI Patel.
