Abducted infant girl rescued from Bardoli

Surat: A four-month-old girl who was abducted in the presence of her parents on Wednesday was rescued from Bardoli on Thursday, police said.In a joint operation, teams from Athwalines police and Bardoli railway police raided a location near the Bardoli Sugar Factory and rescued the infant from Meena Vasava (35) and her husband Sunil (32), both residents of Nandurbar.The girl's parents, natives of Zalod, had come to Bhandariwad in Nanpura in search of work. Their two daughters, aged five years and four months, were with them at the time.According to police, a couple approached the family and started interacting with them, playing with the infant. When the mother briefly went to fetch water and the father stepped away to buy paan masala, the couple allegedly fled with the baby within minutes.When the parents returned, they could neither find the child nor the couple. They rushed to Athwalines police station and lodged a complaint.Police immediately launched a massive search operation and formed multiple teams involving around 150 personnel to trace the abducted child.
